Passing through the large library on one side of the house, my eyes fell on a book. A book that marked my childhood. I adored her. I read it until I almost broke it and my mother hid it from me. It was the book I was inevitably reading on the first day of vacation! I thought it would bring me luck and bring me an adventurous vacation, just like the characters in it. And today, my eyes crossed with the title of the book again even if it is not the first day of vacation: "Cherries" by Costantin Chirita.

I don't know what you did when you were little, but I didn't miss a single tree, especially when the flowers were all open announcing rich fruit or when the newly formed trees were falling from the leaves. I liked corcoduses, apples, pears, small, unformed, sour cherries. We also eat the flowers because it seemed to me that I would be more "cherry". And today I would live the adventure through the caves of Romania as children in the book did, I would discover treasures of Dacians and swords of Romanians, but in the meantime I went to reconstruct the sweet story of the adventure, this time in the kitchen. Will it be, or will it not be a cherry blossom?

  • 4 sheets of pie, or strudel
  • 3 eggs
  • 50 gr starch
  • 300 ml milk
  • 300 ml fresh
  • 150 gr sugar
  • 3 limes
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
  • 50 gr butter or melted and cooled margarine to grease the sheets

Servings: 24

Preparation time: less than 90 minutes

RECIPE PREPARATION Childhood longing - Flowers with parfait de limette:

1. Spread the overlapping sheets 2 by 2 and cut them into 15x15 cm squares. Take a sheet cut this way and place it in a muffin tray. Grease the sheet with a little butter or melted margarine with a kitchen brush and place the second sheet. Powder with powdered sugar and bake for 5-10 minutes in a hot oven over low heat.

2. In a saucepan, mix the yolks with the sugar, add the milk and starch and simmer until you get a fairly thick pudding. Allow to cool slightly and add the juice from 2 limes and the egg whites. At the end, add the whipped cream. Put in the freezer for at least 4 hours. Stir in the cream from time to time to make it fluffier.

3. Put a globe of ice cream in the flowers made of pie sheets, decorated with currants, raspberries or strawberries, powdered with sugar and if you like, sprinkle with melted chocolate.

Tips sites

1

Do not make the pudding too thick, you will get a too hard parfait.

2

Stir from time to time the pudding once left to cool to remain creamy and not bark.

3

Do not keep the ready-made cake for more than 20 minutes at room temperature because it softens the "flower".

Memories of ice cream

On the holiday I just finished, I ate quite a lot of ice cream. In many ways, from several manufacturers. Most of the assortments are not found in our country, even if the respective producers also have sales in Romania, but that's another story. I've been eating ice cream since I was a kid. I remember the one made by my aunts, mixing it in a pot placed in a bowl of salt dipped in the snow in my grandparents' yard. I remember the ice cream in the basket (with the shell, as my nephew Paul calls it) which was in three assortments - cocoa, vanilla and pistachio - produced by the dairy factories that operated in almost every city. I also remember the croissant ice cream that I bought from the market and that was made in sanitary conditions by God forbid. At that time I liked everything. Today, I can barely find another one that I want to eat again. Maybe my pretensions have increased, maybe my assortment is too big and too many temptations, maybe I just don't like it as much as I did as a child. Or maybe in recent years I have tried to find the taste, texture, smell, that is, the flavor of the ice cream I ate as a child. I can't find them anymore. Sometimes I'm close, but that's it. How do you remember ice cream? What did you like? What do you like today (you can give brand names, I don't mind at all)? What does an ice cream have to look like to always eat it? To inspire you, I put below some pictures with sorbets, foams and ice cream made by me. Stay healthy.

Haagez Dazs with Bailey's. Mmmm… ..

Hmm, I like Napolact ... it's like = it changed its taste, it's to my liking.
Then there is the Magnum ice cream from Algida)

Häagen-Dazs dulce de leche, almost all products from Langnese Cremissimo, Movenpick panna cotta or with nuts… mmmmhhh

I polarly liked a whole life :)) but only that cocoa, made at prodlacta brasov .. now, or I make it alone at home - and this summer I constantly had a basin of ice cream in the freezer, or I ate lemon Siviero Maria .

I remember the ice cream from my childhood, which I liked in any form: waffle, cornet, plastic cup. I had the greatest joy on Sundays, when my grandfather sent me to get ice cream. He called it "Polar", I liked that it was sweet, although I was a little bothered by the packaging (it looked like a packet of butter) because I ate everything. :)
Regarding the brands, I don't have a favorite. I like ice cream to be creamy and not overly sweet. I ate the best ice cream at ice cream parlors in Italy. I like the diversity of flavors: chocolate, pistachio, coconut, lemon, mint, hazelnuts, berries. This year I had a passion for fruit ice cream, although so far chocolate is in the top of my preferences. : P

Anything from Ben & Jerry’s! Probably the best icecream in the world.

… Hehei, if it's about childhood ice cream -because I remember this very fondly- I have to go back in time about 50 years… it was vanilla or "punch" (something pink with raisins and orange peel , today it most resembles the one of raisins and rum), velvety and with a smell… I don't know how to describe it but yes, I still call it "confectionery smell" -this provincial city confectionery, where at you can see the 4 ice cream lids that hide the 4 cylindrical ice cream containers (the ice cream that is made there, you see it mixed by the "big mixer" on the side of the counter and when it's ready, the "aunt seller" moves it with a wooden spoon (god, how I imagined when I was a child what it would be like to receive in a big plate all the amount of ice cream from that spoon)…) I was happy when they didn't have "all kinds" because I didn't have to choose decision: vanilla, coffee, chocolate, lemon, punch…) I usually have only 3 lei (3 ice cream balls or 2 ice cream balls and a whipped cream)… The first steps in educating a decision maker :)) Done! I was too hungry for a "freeze", I have a raspberry one in the freezer (made by me, the classic raspberry mousse mixed with whipped cream (or sour cream / yogurt, depending on what I have in the house), miam-miam…), I'm going "to feel a little child"…

my childhood ice cream was POLAR without a doubt and maybe for a long time I have been trying to find it… .I found it in Gibraltar (after 4 years of searching), in a small cafe, ice cream from Cornwall or cornish ice cream… .for a second I was 5 years old again :)

Ice cream :) the one from childhood - ice cream cone (in the shape of a glass), vanilla, in which my father put cocoa powder :) then ice cream from the sea, where I stayed for months because my grandfather was a guide for foreign tourists, and how I went with my grandmother to ice cream, after my grandfather gave us clear instructions that I was not allowed ice cream: P
The best ice cream now:
Italian ice cream from London, a kiosk in Canary Wharf, in the mall under the tallest towers… worth it!
Turkish ice cream from Dobrogea, with the consistency of light sorbet, which captures the aromas of fruits (such as peaches, melon or melon) exceptionally (Italian ice cream, by the way of preparation, does not capture the aroma of these fruits)
Sia ice cream - from Sweden - chocolate, with roasted and crushed cocoa beans, or fruit sorbets, not sweet. On the islands off the west coast of Sweden, in summer, there are kiosks where the cornets are made on the spot, it smells irresistible and the ice cream is insane.
I also like Ben & Jerry The one with dark chocolate bananas, or HaagenDasz - Sweet milk, but they are a little too sweet - so small portions :)

Polar ice cream..How good it was, and how good it is and this rebranded…: D

Green bean soup - Pasta Zama

35 comments:

green beans I ate last time in Romania. it is also found in me but I don't know how to prepare it: D
This juice looks very good. It reminds me of childhood. In Moldova it is called low green beans, but I don't know if it's the same food. Yummy. A wonder. Kisses

I never refuse such an appetizing plate! Just yesterday I also made green bean soup, but I also grated a zucchini in it and I put plenty of sour cream only on the plate -) Next week I will do it again. puuup

How right you are with the label .. Food like at home mom !! demential taste !! That's right ! kisses and a perfect Sunday !!

how wonderful! you made me so hungry, especially since you're looking at a wonderful green bean at the market :))

Alas Lia, I would sip your juice! I do it too, but it doesn't compare to the one at home. I know what to tell my mother to do to me. I'll smell her from the plane.

My father's favorite! I make this soup from time to time, but with round beans, I miss the beans so much!

Nice to see you there, in that idyllic landscape. I was referring to the table, not to the heads :)

I came back from travel and I see only goodies in you. A pleasant evening.

The easiest way to prepare it is in Garlic Salad.
Boil it in salted water, drain it and mix it with:

good quality oil, salt, pepper, lemon juice, lots of chopped garlic and parsley leaves.
Do it to your husband and he will surely like it.

And I do it soon, because it alternates with cabbage soup and other summer soups. :)

Look no further, get to the facts!

Send a list to your mother in the North, so I know what smells you want to smell. :)

Alina,
You should know that round pods are also in vogue with us now. Yellow or green, but this soup looks better with wide pods.

Gabita,
I tried to evoke long gone times.
I only partially succeeded. :)

Miodrag,
On the word of a pioneer, I thought of you today.
We miss you from the landscape. :))
I'm glad to see you " .

It looks very good, congratulations!

What goodness.
I've never done that.
I was suddenly hungry :))))

A sudden goodness. I'm not talking about landscapes anymore. I can't wait to get to those areas. Many kisses!

Lia only goodies to you I found how much I missed I see you did not waste time in vain. Super.

What a craving you made me with this zama :) it must be good, because you described it so well :)

mmmmmmmm, at such a beautiful table and such a goodness (it is definitely good with pods from your garden |) I would stay with pleasure

This zama must have been tried at least once this summer.
Then you will definitely do it again and you will remember me. :)

It sucks a lot with the juice that my grandmother, from Transylvania, used to make. Very good, I really miss this soup.

I can only quench my longing by making these childhood dishes that remind me of sweet, carefree moments.
It's the best relaxation exercise.
Kiss you.

Lia ... I came to get you a portion. !! I haven't had enough !! kisses and a wonderful week

You're a sweetie .:)
Oh, how I would send you a big pot to satiate you.
Why can't we teleport?
Kiss you .

And you to be loved, much and from all sides! To be wrapped only in love! Guess who is knocking on your door? : D
Kiss you!

The soup looks fantastic, and if you receive me at the table, please do not invite anyone because they will not reach them =))

What I would like to have with you in the kitchen at the table once.
I also have a living room, but in the kitchen it's more cozy. Let's talk like girls. :)
Kiss you good night.

It's 10:26 and it was raining in my mouth. So! . :)
Kiss you!

What a longing I had for a live image with the fan heads :)

from now on, when you eat beans, you will make contact with the hay. :)

beautiful story .. BRAVO. now at work, let's see what zama comes out :)

Very nice! You even managed to take me to that wonderful world of Santa and my grandmother. Today I make this zama to remember fondly and to eat healthy and full. Thank you LauraH!

Dear Laura.
Don't forget to put the greens and garlic in the soup, so that it comes out like grandma's.
And I wish you Good Luck! :)

Peach surprise - a kind of soufflé!

This recipe represents what resulted from the fragments I retained from a TV show. As I don't know which of the two exclusively gastronomic positions - which I was following at one point - I saw, there is no point in lying to you. It wasn't titrated, so it's an approximation. But, a very happy one! It received the highest grade and will be made with other fruits and other decorations.

Wow, this is a surprise. The cheese souffle looks beautiful.

..mmmm, it looks really good! I just look at the pictures. I will try, but only after I can say that I am strong enough to stop eating only ONE. For now, I still have some work to do in this regard, and that's why I still don't dare to make homemade sweets for the carb day.
Kiss you Elena, and have a wonderful day!
App: I'm glad you reappeared on the forum! I just told you we missed you!
Magda

Oh, Ivy, the surprise is fluffy and tastes great! I only regret that I don’t remember what show I saw - it could be Anna Olson, but not sure. A wonderful day!

Magda, you can't imagine how glad I am that I was able to solve the technical problem and talk to you! I missed you so much, you were my strength and you are my dear friends.

Mmm. looks very good!
I think it is delicious with peaches!
Congratulations!

I want it too iooooo. looks exceptionally appetizing!
I wish you a wonderful day!:)

I don't know when, because I have a very long list, but I will definitely try this recipe. It looks so good, Elena. I wish you a beautiful day.

daniela, Ana-Maria, thank you! I was told it was great in taste and consistency. I will repeat in 2 days, when I am allowed a cake! Try and put in small forms, so that you are not tempted to eat more. So, the rest of your baby pope, even if he's a little buttery.

Ooooo, I would put it in small shape if I had it. but I do not have. : D
So it remains the sea option. that is, on a large size. hehehe. to eat my mouth with lust. hahahahaha
I hug you !: D

Beautiful. A kind of fruit soufflé.
I will test.
See you soon.

Thank you, Gourmandises, I'm very curious, if you like both new and old. You can try with other fruits, I want a version with mango. Good day!

Ana-Maria, it's easier than it looks! A fluff, but. with enough calories! Luckily for my son, he doesn't care about calories. I promised myself to make this little one for myself. I have some porcelain shapes, a madness, for tarts, of a very suitable size - 12.5 cm! Hi, hi, hi!

What a wonderful breath! When I make it I come to get the recipe, okay?
Until then can I take a small piece of peach?
A good day!

Oh, you can take as much as you want. Only here you can find it, like me not. And I didn't even get to taste it! But the next day I'm allowed to do more! And I will add pictures with those, for whoever wants. Have a wonderful day, Mariana!

a real surprise, a wonderful soufflé, the cheese and fruit mixes are to my taste!

Thanks a lot, Alison! Try this recipe, you will like it, I guarantee!
